Hello.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my site.
I’m Rebecca Ogle, the owner of Grounded Counseling, PLLC.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and psychotherapist providing teletherapy to Illinois residents.
I’m a white, cisgender, bisexual, middle class woman.
My clients describe me as warm and approachable with a good sense of humor.
Why “Grounded Counseling”?
Grounding provides a sense of safety and stability. Grounding is a skill that is thousands of years old and rooted in Indigenous practices.
One of the first coping skills I often teach private practice clients is called “grounding,” which you can read more about here.
The word “grounded” also makes me think of “down-to-earth,” which is a good way to describe me.

Towards Anti-Oppressive Practice
As a social worker, I have a responsibility to advocate for social justice and systemic change according to the social work code of ethics, as well as my personal value system.
I am not an expert in anti-oppressive practice. I am dedicated to a lifetime of learning in order to provide good quality mental health services to BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and disabled folks.

You can access anti-oppressive resources here.
I provide one free, gender-affirming letter per month. Please contact me if you are interested.
Personal Life

I moved to Chicago after graduating from Earlham College in 2011. I got my Master of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago in 2014.
I am married with one kid who was born in 2021.
In my spare time, I love spending time with friends and family, watching reality TV, and eating chocolate.
