Mindful Monday – November 27, 2017

“Looking at beauty in the world, is the first step of purifying the mind.” – Amit Ray

The color of a cobalt blue t-shirt. The outlines of trees against a sunset. A favorite photograph. The shadows a lamp makes on the wall. The lines, veins, and marks on the hand of a loved one. A brick wall. A dandelion. A smiling baby. A cup of steaming tea. A favorite shade of lipstick. An iron fence. A newly paved sidewalk. A big grassy field. A tall, old building. Light filtering in through the blinds.

Beauty is everywhere. All we need to do is seek it out.

If you have looked everywhere and still haven’t found beauty, you need only close our eyes and imagine. In as much detail as you can, picture your favorite place in the world. A tranquil lake, a lush forest, a white sand beach, a comfortable window seat. Maybe you’ve been there, maybe you haven’t. Either way, this place is exactly as light or dark as you want it to be. The colors are as soft or saturated as you’d prefer. The weather is perfect. Your body and mind can experience the same calm as if you were really there.

Where do you find beauty in your daily life? Comment below. I look forward to hearing from you! Have a mindful Monday.
